I love great bass. I hate having a subwoofer under my desk collecting dust and getting in the way of my feet. What’s up with that? Here comes the Altec Lansing(r) expressionistTM BASS to the rescue! Altec Lansing has long been know for quality sound, and this new speaker system continues the reputation. These speakers deliver clear strong bass by way of built in subwoofers using 4′ long throw drivers facing down at the bottom of each speaker. The mids and highs are handled by a 1.5′ driver at the top. I attached them to my MP3 player and was blown away by the crisp full sound these babies deliver. My music sounds great, from Arlo to Jerry. Now if I could only find that black light…. These are the best self contained speaker system I have heard at this price level. They have an auxiliary jack for attaching an additional audio device. The volume is loud enough to drive my dogs out of my office and prevent me from thinking. The expressionist BASS speakers are truly form follows function in their clean conical design. The power and volume controls are 
inconspicuously located on the top of the right channel speaker. One flush button each for up volume, down volume, and power.

Coolness: These sound great! Auxiliary jack.
Cold: The bass driver is unprotected I accidently touched it twice.
