Family Allowances in the 21st Century

Ah, kids today! Always yakking on their cell phones! And they never seem to know WHO is paying for all that talk time. So what are modern parents to do? these days cell phones are almost a necessity if you want to make sure your kids are safe and able to access the police or family members in case of emergency.

But no one wants to go broke taking care of their children’s’ safety. Enter T-Mobile who are offering their “Family Allowances” plan in August.

“Family Allowances” lets YOU, the parents set and change your kids limits for minutes, messages and downloads (like games, ring tones and wallpaper) using an online tool. Once the allowance is reached, the feature shuts off service for that specific element and you receive a notification. YOU can stay in contact with your kids by setting up “Always AllowedSM” numbers that will continue to connect, even after allowances have been spent. Any unlimited calling features that are included in a family’s plan, such as myFaves(r) and T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile, can also still be used, which preserves the value of the calling plan. Additional controls are available so YOU can choose to set allowances on unlimited calling features, if desired.

With Family Allowances YOU are in complete control. YOU set the limits on the time of day a phone may be used, YOU can prohibit the use of minutes, messages or downloads (other than to “Always Allowed” numbers), and YOU list numbers that are blocked from calling or sending messages to any phone in your family plan.

And YOU get no horrifying surprise bills!
